The first three days of november has been pretty busy so far. I have less than a week left until that big day of being in the real world. Scary as it is, I am excited in starting work and I'm going to face it bravely as a real adult. I am all ready to face my new journey!
november 1:I had my going-away dinner at Buca di Beppo with my sisters and friends. It was fun and intimate bonding time with them even though not a lot of them made it. Thanks to my friends who showed up even though it was pouring outside. I appreciate the little speeches they made and the greetings. It means a lot to me. Thank you, thank you!

Carrie said that I'm her first friend in college. Aww, yeah I remember we always ran across each other in campus in freshman year. Then we had the same classes in prereqs for nursing. Then we became close friends. Time goes by fast, doesn't it?
Ay the tiramisu dessert. This was strong! I can really taste the alcohol in it. What kind of alcohol do they put in this anyway? But it was still good whatever it is.

november 2: Went to IKEA with Mike to get some little things that I can bring when I move-in in the condo...hampers, trash can, clock, portable drawers, shoe organizers, etc. I and my roommates will be staying in the condo for 3 months and then moving again on January to the permanent housing. So i thought it's not practical to buy a lot of furnitures for now. [More details about this later..]
So all I really did was take some pictures to get some ideas when that time comes that I can move-in in our permanent home. These are the ones that caught my attention...
I just like this one with the office design and take a closer look at the office below. But I'm not really digging the bunk bed ah.
I wanna get this desk. This is gonna be perfect for my computer and my office supplies. But I would get a more comfy chair. That chair doesn't look so comfy at all!

I just like the look of this room design overall.
This is probably my ideal bed especially if I can put my iPod over there on the top counter. But geez, $847 is kind of tight! Mag-iipon-ipon muna ako, hehehe..
november 3: I had my drug screening and physical appointment today in Santa Maria. I also went to the HR to finish some new hire paperwork and got my picture taken for my badge. So I drove today from home to Santa Maria for the very first time and it takes 3 hours to get there. So I've been basically driving the whole day. It was cloudy on the way and rained pretty hard on the way back. Kind of tiring but I have to get used to it.
Oh I also got to visit the condo unit that me and my roommates will be staying in. I like it so far, it's nice and pretty spacious. Here are the pics of the empty condo. We'll be moving this weekend.
------------// The "good luck wish" letter
Back in nursing school in my graduating semester, my professor made us write a letter - our good luck wish to ourselves after graduation, or just whatever that we have in mind at that time. We wrote the letter and she collected it, and sealed it in an envelope. She said that she will mail it to us after a couple of months. Then months passed by...............and I forgot about the letter.
Yesterday I received something in the mail, and to my surprise it is the letter that I wrote to myself in April of this year! Oh my!
My letter reads:
4/28/08
Dear Diane,
Hopefully by now you've already passed NCLEX-RN for the first time! You're working in Kaiser or VMC. Everything that you worked hard for paid off! That's what you get for being a good student and daughter. May God bless you with all these wishes!
Love, Diane ------- It's so interesting to read the letter again, especially that my wish came true! I'm so thankful that God answered my prayers and my wishes. Kasitotoo naman I was a good student and a good daughter ah! hehe...Walang kokontra! hehehe..Yun nga lang, I won't be working in either Kaiser or VMC hospitals, but I'll be working in a Catholic hospital (CHW) and in the unit that I like.
Can't help to feel so happy and lucky everytime I realize that I got the unit that I really want. ------------// Pahabol! Mikey is a "tiger" in halloween.

Nice babe! That pics look really good and it seems like you'll be moving in to an awesome new pad. =) Can't wait to see it in person. I bet right now it looks really big and spacious since there's nothing in there right now.

Hahaha Diane, really you too was in IKEA? I actually pleaded guilty of taking photos there so I sneaked only one. However when I moved in to my smaller but conducive apt, I got that bunk bed (here take a look) and loved it on a first sight. You are going to enjoy your new home. Why not invite your friends on the weekends, and they'll cook of course.
That's what I don't like about "driving" - it looks tiring and scary at the same time. For 3 hours in the road all by yourself? Well, maybe that's just me. I hate being controlled by a moving machine, hehehe. That letter-to-myself was a motivation tool, often than not, some of us would write what "we wished" for. Bah, di namin ginawa yan in College.
